Important Information

Trip is a 6 mth old handsome lad who is full of joy and life, not a mean bone in his body and just wants to everybody’s new best friend
Trip has been having some issues with his right front leg so he is off to Vet on Friday also to have this looked and see what can be done for him.

Trip was desexed and also had some X-rays done on his leg, now for a tiny little dog the big bit is his elbow. He has a medial humeral condylar fracture- say that one fast! We have Trip booked in to be operated on this coming Wednesday.

Trips op was big, very big, over 3 hrs under anaesthesia but it was successful to our knowledge, we will know more once we speak to the vet later on today when we pick him up.
Trip has a long road ahead, 8 weeks of crate rest and an assortment of meds, we have already started him on a Cartrophen course so that hopefully will aid him with arthritis in his future, he is not to happy about all the crate rest because he is a very jovial dog that loves to play and join in games but its being done for his best interest so sadly it has to done.

There is so much interest in Trip and Trip is healing as fast as he can but it is out of our hands, we are guided by our Vet and as he knows more on this surgery this has to respected. We must remember that Trip had a break in his leg that was about 5 days old, this is not good, we were very lucky that it was able to be fixed...he now has a steel plate and screws in his leg...this takes time and patience.
Since the day he came in he has been in crate, we know that he is extremely playful(how he ended up with a break) but this may not be for the best for his long term well being and same is to be said for young children which excites him even further...we will more than likely be looking for a home that is basically quiet, older teen children and an older dog companion that doesn't want to play all the time. This is what we and the Vet feel will be the best long term solution for a dog like Trip.
