Important Information

Jilli is a 2 yr old girl that has some personal space issues, she does not like, at all, for you to touch or place a lead or harness around her neck, she will and has tried to have a go at all of us..and no, there is no injury there, this is due to some sort of mistreatment in her life.
She has been in rescue now for around 2 weeks and she has made some massive inroads thanks to our super foster carer, Cindy!
Cindy has been patiently worked with her and is bringing Jilli down from her high anxiety and helping her accept that a collar etc is not a bad thing. A big shoutout thank you Cindy, another job well done. Xx
Please keep an eye out for Jilli when she becomes available for adoption, she really is a good dog that has just had some bad luck.

The surrendering owner surrendered Jilly because of behavioural problems (mainly anxiety).

She was an insecure mess when she arrived at rescue. We believe someone has grabbed Jilly by the collar and been very forceful with her while holding her by the collar. This traumatised her severely and meanst she was extremely fearful of having her collar touched or being put into a harness. She would shiver with fear when she saw a lead. Simply put, she lacked confidence about being handled and was very fearful of excessive restraint.

Rescue organised a session with a Vet Behaviouralist specialist. During this seesion, we discussed how we could teach Jilly to be more comfortable with physical contact and introduce the concept of consent so that we could make meaningful progress with her.

In the time that Jilly has been in rescue, she has learned to trust, to self-soothe (be on her own), and to accept firm but fair boundaries. She thrives on routine, and that harness and collar fear is almost a distant memory. Her foster carer shows her the lead and then pauses. Jilly looks, thinks, and consents to the lead being clipped to her harness or collar.

When under pressure, Jilly will now sit rather than run off or cringe. She has been taught that all pressure is removed when she sits. She has also been taught a sign (wiggle of the fingers) that her foster carer uses to show Jilly that she is not in trouble, and everything is ok.

She is the cleanest little lady with the most perfect toileting habits. She is not destructive - she gently plays with her toys. Her face lights up when you come into a room. She loves to play fetch and go for walks.

Jilly wants a calm home that can provide her with a predictable routine. She would be fine on her own at home if you have to go to work, but would LOVE it if she has you to herself all day.

She has the most beautiful nature. Are you the person that can rescue Jilly and provide her with a forever home? Jilly is an affectionate little clown who enjoys being cuddled and played with. She has the most beautiful little face that melts our heart, and her playful zoomies and other antics make us laugh out loud.

She is a typical, adorable Frenchie that, through no fault of her own, has been messed up by humans, but with a calm routine and a firm but kind approach, she will grow into a beautiful companion.
